I’ve noticed that I tend to go through purchasing phases. At one point, I was obsessed with buying candles. Every time I went to my local shopping centre, a new scented candle would come home with me. Next, came the pyjama phase, where I built up quite a collection of nightwear.
Currently, I’ve been buying more books than usual. Because I’m on uni break for about a month, I’ve been spending a lot of my time reading, hence I’ve been on the lookout for some new books to bury my nose into.
Here are some books I’ve picked up over the past few weeks.
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine | Gail Honeyman
I won’t lie, the main reason I bought this book was because of all the popularity surrounding it, and I had a bit of FOMO, I must admit. I started it last week and I’m really enjoying it so far.
Am I Doing This Right? | Tanya Hennessy
I bought this book about three weeks ago and finished reading it about three days later. Raw, relatable and hilarious are three words I would use to describe Tanya and this book is no exception. If you’re after a light read with plenty of laughs, give this book a go.
Big Little Lies | Liane Moriarty
I just recently finished reading What Alice Forgot, another book by Liane Moriarty, and I wanted to check out some more of her books, starting with Big Little Lies. Due to the success of the TV adaption, I thought it’d be best to read the novel before watching the show.
Three Wishes | Liane Moriarty
It seems I’ve been really drawn to Liane Moriarty novels lately. I haven’t heard much about this book in particular as it was a bit of an impulse purchase. Nevertheless, I’m intrigued to see how it goes.
The Fifth Letter | Nicola Moriarty
This book first peaked my attention about a year ago, but I never got around to reading it. However, when I saw it on the shelves of Kmart for only $9, I had to pick it up. I later learned that the author of this novel is actually the sister of Liane Moriarty (should have caught on to the fact that they have the same surname haha).
What’s a book on your to-read list?
