Making Your Beauty Routine More Festive | Day 7

Sometimes we can feel like we’ve gotten ourselves into a rut, and our beauty routine is no exception.

The good news is that this time of year is the perfect opportunity to switch up your beauty routine.

As someone who tends to be a creature of habit and stick to the same products, the festive season calls for a shake-up in the products I use and how I do certain things. Here are some beauty products you can add to your routine and things you can do to make you feel a little more festive and in the Christmas spirit.

Red lipstick

Red is the ultimate festive colour. If you want to brighten up your makeup look with little commitment, rocking a red lip is the perfect way to do it. My favourite red lip product is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Amsterdam – the perfect red shade and it’s matte, so no concern about it budging straightaway.

Gold eyeshadow

There’s nothing like a sweep of gold across the eyelids to give your makeup look a festive twist. You can go all out and apply gold over the entire eyelid, or for a less intense look, you can press it along the upper or lower lashline.

Scents

Another simple way to switch up your routine, a new perfume is the perfect pick me up. Going for warm, cozy scents puts you in a festive mood and makes you feel more ready for the holidays ahead. Similar to perfume, a Christmas scented body lotion is a lovely way to pamper yourself and make you feel more homely during the holiday period.

Nails

Let’s not neglect the nails! Spice up your manicure by making it Christmas themed. You could keep it classic by applying some red, silver, green, or gold nail polish. Or if you’re feeling a bit brave, attempt some festive nail art, adding some cute decals to your nails such as snowflakes, Christmas trees, or candy canes. For something in between, you could try some glitter polish to make your nails more festive.
