A Penchant For Polka Dots

“You can’t have a bad day in polka dots.”

– Anna Kendrick

I’ve recently rekindled an old love of mine.

Polka dots.

I’m obsessed.

I’m normally a stripes kinda gal, and I still am, but polka dots have taken over lately.

It all started when I needed an outfit for a themed party and I went with a pair of mustard polka dot pants. I paired that with a matching headband and before I knew it, I was seeing polka dots everywhere!

What I love about them is how quirky and fun they are. They spice up an outfit without going too crazy.

They’re also versatile and you can select how you’d like to integrate them into an outfit.

Don’t want to go all out? Go for polka dot hair accessory.

Want to make a statement? Rock a dress covered in polka dots.

A little bit in between? Try a cardigan or top.

The latter is what I’ve gone for in this outfit I’m showing you today. As you can see, it’s a black and white polka dot cardigan and it’s from boohoo.

It’s fairly light in feel, so it’s great for that in between weather during autumn and spring.

I paired it with a simple black tee & blue jeans. I was feeling a bit bold that day, so thought I’d make things a little more interesting by adding a pop of colour on my lips.

  1. I completely agree about polka dots – I always associate them with fun! I love your suggestions for different situations as well, like just adding a polka dot hair accessory if you don’t want to be too bold about it. It will definitely still bring some fun to a look! I love your outfit in this post, too. You look loooooovely! 😀
